Mixed Martial Arts is one of the world’s fastest growing sports on the planet, therefore it’s not surprising that betting on MMA, and especially the UFC, is growing in popularity. All the Australian sportsbooks provide a variety of markets for every UFC card. Part of what makes MMA such an exciting sport to watch is the unpredictability and how the whole complexion of a fight can change with only one well-placed punch or even a crazy entry. Nevertheless this can make gambling a little tricky as well, so to raise both the value and the odds of succeeding, it is very important to make the most of the many prop bets available for MMA betting. Below are a couple of of the markets provided by sports publications on UFC fights.
MMA & UFC Betting Types
Head to Head –The bet type, a punter should pick the winner of the fight. The vast majority of fights result in a winner with only about 1.5percent of bouts end in a draw or no competition.
Method of Victory — The punter must call the winner and if whether it’s won via KO, decision or entry.
Double Chance — Much like method of success, no matter how the punter must forecast the winner then has two opportunities at calling the procedure (i.e. fighter x to win by KO or by decision). This is quite useful when a fighter has very little entry abilities and therefore is just likely to acquire a decision or by KO (and vice versa for a fighter with hardly any KO power).
Total Rounds — The punter must call if the fight goes over or below a specific amount of time. By way of instance, if the line is set at 1.5 rounds, the punter must call if the battle will be finished in the first round, or continue to the next round and beyond.
Generally fights at lower weight classes, and women’s fights, often go more (and are more inclined to go to decision) due to less knockout power. Also fights with a huge skill discrepancy (i.e. a top level grappler versus a high level kickboxer) are far more likely to lead to a finish than fights with equally matched combatants.
